Modern day Coffee Shops
Modern Coffee shops either specialize in coffee and hot beverages or
have hot beverages and a full menu, which is called a cafй. Many have an outdoor section such as a terrace, pavement or sidewalk that has places to sit down, tables and umbrellas. This is more common with European coffee shops.
Those that focus on hot beverages usually serve coffee, tea and hot chocolate and many serve a nice selection of baked goods or sandwiches.
Modern coffee shops are usually equipped with Wi-Fi making them internet-accessible. These are called Internet Cafes or Hotspot Cafes. American coffee shops are often associated with indie, jazz and acoustic music and many will have them playing live in their shops. Some of them are gathering places for underage youths who are unable to go to bars.
